Tan Copsey is Director, Special Projects at Climate Nexus.
Prior to joining Climate Nexus he served as Director of the Risky Business Project, which focused on quantifying risks and opportunities presented by a changing climate. The Project was co-chaired by Michael Bloomberg, Hank Paulson, and Tom Steyer.
He previously served as Head of Communications for the Global Commission on the Economy and Climate. The Commission, headed by former President of Mexico Felipe Calderon and Lord Nicholas Stern, looked at the opportunities and costs associated with moving to a low-carbon economy. He is a co-author of Better Growth, Better Climate: The New Climate Economy Report presented to heads of state at a special United Nations Summit on Climate Change in 2014.
Before this, he worked as a Research Manager for BBC Media Action on Climate Asia - a research and communications project into public understandings of food, water, energy, health and climate change across seven countries in Asia, the largest project of its kind. In addition he has worked for global environmental organizations including chinadialogue and the third pole project, political website openDemocracy and the University of Auckland, New Zealand.
He has authored, co-authored and edited numerous reports including Better Growth, Better Climate: The New Climate Economy Report, From Risk to Return: Investing in a Clean Energy Economy, and reports on communicating climate change in China, Indonesia, and Vietnam, for BBC Media Action.
