Emma is a skilled and tenacious communicator with years of experience securing high-value media placements for progressive campaigns and causes. As one of two communications directors, she works to showcase the diverse range of voices within the climate movement on TV and radio to drive home how climate change affects every aspect of our economy, communities, and lives.
Before joining Climate Nexus, Emma was a communications consultant at BerlinRosen, where she led and executed national and local media strategy for a range of labor and nonprofit clients. Her work elevated issues such as wage increases and family-friendly workplace policies in national media, and contributed to new laws and victories for working people in cities around the country. Emma’s writing has appeared in outlets such as The New York Times, The Washington Post, CNN, The Guardian, US News and World Report and MSNBC. Her tireless pitching has landed clients on CBS, CNN, CNBC, PBS, MSNBC and NPR.
Emma honed her political organizing skills as a Regional Director and Director of Outreach during the 2010 Sestak for Senate campaign in Pennsylvania.
In her free time, Emma loves to hike, travel and camp.
