Ben Rubin is a Media Manager at Climate Nexus, where he develops communications strategies that chronicle climate change solutions, share scientific findings, and inform policymaking. Ben’s climate experience spans the nonprofit, government, and private sectors and ranges from campaign management to policy development.
Prior to joining Climate Nexus, he spent over two years overseeing communications campaigns to advance renewable infrastructure and other clean energy initiatives as a principal at Kivvit. Prior to that, Ben worked for three years at California Governor Jerry Brown’s Office of Planning and Research as an associate planner, focusing on long-range planning policies to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
Driven by a passion to connect with global communities, Ben has traveled to five continents and more than half of U.S. states. In each destination he strikes up climate conversations in an effort to better understand the diversity of climate change viewpoints. Currently based in New York City, he can often be found exploring the city’s urban jungle or canoeing along its shores.
Ben graduated with honors from Pitzer College in 2010 with a bachelor's degree in urban planning and a minor in anthropology.
